Avionic Humour
There is a blond on the plane

A blonde gets an opportunity to fly to a nearby country. She has never been on an airplane anywhere and was very excited and tense. As soon as she boarded the plane, a Boeing747, she started jumping in excitement, running over seat to seat and starts shouting, “BOEING! BOEING!! BOEING!!! BO…..”

She sort of forgets where she is, even the pilot in the cock-pit hears the noise. Annoyed by the goings on, the Pilot comes out and shouts “Be silent!”

There was pin-drop silence everywhere and everybody is looking at the blonde and the angry Pilot. She stared at the pilot in silence for a moment, concentrated really hard, and all of a sudden started shouting, “OEING! OEING! OEING! OE….”

The Technical Side:
Maxcraft’s Trusted Affiliate Network
Maxcraft Avionics is pleased to formally announce its Trusted Affiliate Network (TAN). We have long been selective on which third-party service we recommend to our clients. The aviation industry, unfortunately, has many firms that promise far more than they deliver. Maxcraft prides itself on embracing a business philosophy of predictability and accountability, and partnering with organizations that reflect the same high standards of quality and professionalism that we hold ourselves to. By participating in our network they help us offer comprehensive one-stop solutions that cover Avionics, Interiors, Paint, Structures, and more.
Companies that we choose to designate as Trusted Affiliates have a proven record of successful collaboration with our company, as well as a demonstrated commitment to quality of work, regulatory compliance, and reliable project management. Trusted Affiliates are our preferred collaborators for projects that extend beyond the scope of avionics.

How does this help you, the client? Our trusted affiliate network is an exceptional boon to owners and operators who opt for upgrades across multiple categories. A coordinated and efficient working relationship between all partners as well as a single high standard of quality takes guesswork out of planning large multi-party concurrent upgrades. Preselecting qualified and reliable organizations while providing a single point of contact helps Maxcraft offer a true turnkey solution to its clients. Ultimately this saves client money through streamlined planning that minimizes redundant labour, total downtime, and potential scheduling conflicts.  More on our website.

Vendor Profile:
MYGOFLIGHT is the leader in iPad gear for pilots. MYGOFLIGHT’s cases, mounts, flight bags and accessories are high quality and make using the iPad in the cockpit safer, easier, and secure. All professional grade. All built to last. Perfect for business aviation and general aviation alike.
When MYGOFLIGHT CEO Charles Schneider learned to fly, he was presented with a stack of paper charts and was expected to identify where the airplane was while flying at 200 knots. The idea of going backwards to take the time and effort to determine a fix seemed preposterous.
Instead, he bought a $5,000 laptop with a touch screen and ran Jeppesen Flight Deck on it. While the software worked great, the laptop was anything but.
When the iPad came out he thought the device was perfect and figured out how he could secure it in-flight. Other pilots saw it and asked if he would make one for them and from that MYGOFLIGHT was born.

Over the years MYGOFLIGHT has evolved to help pilots secure their iPad in flight. They have built accessories necessary to power and improve the screen readability.
Now in their 5th year as a company MYGOFLIGHT is always striving to pursue perfection with their products. They are working together with some of the top companies in the industry to continue to innovate and enhance the use of the iPad in the cockpit.

Did you know?
Welcome to Seaplanes West Inc.
If you have a love for flying and need to bring a little more life into your flying … consider this new player on the floatplane block.
Seaplanes West has developed a whole new kind of flying.  Jim Schwerman, president of Seaplanes West and the designer of the Cessna 182 Super SeaLane project, says he developed this project after years of flying 185s on floats.   He started the company back in 1999 out of Cooking Lake, Alberta which is before the lake dried up.
We looked at the market of seaplanes and found it wasn’t growing.  Mainly because Cessna didn’t manufacture the 180 and 185 anymore.  Where are more affordable float aircraft going to come from?  What inspired the project most is the wider bodies.  The 182 and 206 do share the same cabin width.
The Cessna 182 series was manufactured in wide body from 1962 and up and these are the most demanding for floats.  There are a tremendous amount of aircraft out there.  Every airfield has a few.  They make a beautiful float plane, but the airframe structural conversion needs to be done right.  Everyone knows the nose gear and firewall on a 182 is the weakest part in the whole plane.  That is where we start.
What we did was build firewall strength thru the engine mount, same way the Cessna 185 was done for the floatplane.  A new engine mount bolts to the firewall so you leave the firewall material alone.
This was also a perfect time to re-design the rubber isolators that the engine sits in and this essentially repairs the vibration problems of these Continental engines.  Especially beneficial for the 470, 520 and 550 engines.  3 bladed propellers are a real joy because they operate so smooth and are quieter in the cabin and on the lakes.
We also developed an STC to replace all engine mounts in all 180, 182, 185 land and float aircraft so they take advantage of all the vibration technology we built in.
Our float kit was developed for the 182 airframe, so there are numerous floats that can be added … same float kit.  You have access to economically priced used EDO2870 or 2960 floats or the Aerocet 3500 and even Wipline 3000 floats which are all straight float models.  Amphibious floats are the Aerocet 3400 or Wipline 3000.
Our approach to float flying is a new floatplane pilot can progress thru straight floats, and move up into amphibs once comfortable, which means a total transition still using the same aircraft he owns.
Many engine mods available to add more horsepower and useful load, all dependent on the type of flying required and at the right time.
If we add our Gross Weight Increase of 410 lbs while on floats you end up with over 1200 pounds useful load which is very impressive, and the climb gradient of over 1220 fpm at gross weights!  Yes, this means 4 people and full fuel no problem!
We moved into our new 14,000 ft facility in Vernon, BC back in 2010 and offer complete installation services of our float conversions, installation of all performance enhancing products, engine upgrades up to 330 HP, and we are the Western Canada Aerocet float dealer.  We offer seasonal changes between floats and wheels ..  fly in – fly out (and our lakes don’t freeze).
A new addition is our complete paint refinishing shop for stripping and full painting operations.  We use the best materials available and offer striping packages and custom colors.
We are pleased to be associated with Maxcraft Avionics as our source for our avionics needs and upgrades.
