Pitt Meadows Airport Now Designated AOE/15

As one of the largest avionics shops in Canada, Maxcraft does considerable work with aircraft owners south of the border.  We are pleased to announce that the Pitt Meadows Airport has now been granted AOE (Airport of Entry) status AOE15.

This means we now have customs and immigration services through the Canada Border Services Agency.  Pitt Meadows is now a convenient point of entry for international flights.  This is effective immediately.

Key Instructions for Pilots Using AOE/15

As part of the new designation, pilots arriving at Pitt Meadows Airport must follow the mandatory Telephone Reporting for General Aviation process as outlined by the CBSA.

Pre-Arrival Notification:
• The pilot must provide advance notification of the arrival, along with details of all travelers and goods on board, by contacting the Telephone Reporting Centre (TRC) at 1-888-226-7277.
• Notification must be made a minimum of two (2) hours and a maximum of 48 hours before arrival in Canada.
• In case the toll-free number is unavailable, pilots can contact the TRC directly at 905-679-2073 (long-distance charges may apply).

Information to Provide:
• Estimated time of arrival (ETA), aircraft registration number, and landing site in Canada.
• For each traveler on board: full name, date of birth, citizenship, travel documents, and details on purpose and length of stay.
• Declaration of all goods being imported, including firearms, food, plants, and currency over CAN$10,000.
• Any updates to ETA or traveler information must be reported before arrival.

On Arrival:
• Immediately after landing, aircraft should taxi into one of the four designated parking spots in the white box directly in front of the terminal building.
• Once parked, the pilot must call the TRC at 1-888-226-7277 to report the arrival and receive further instructions. No one on board is permitted to leave the aircraft until CBSA approval is granted.

Customs Clearance:
• Pilots must ensure that the aircraft lands during CBSA’s business hours unless alternative arrangements have been made with the local CBSA office.
• Landing outside of normal business hours is subject to cost-recovery fees.

Emergency Landings:
• If an unscheduled landing occurs due to weather or emergency, the pilot must contact the TRC, the nearest CBSA office, or the RCMP as soon as possible.

Pilot’s Responsibility:
• Pilots must ensure all necessary travel documents are available and valid for all travelers.
• Pilots are responsible for any inadmissible passengers and associated costs, including removal fees.
We appreciate your attention to these new guidelines as we enhance our airport services. Should you have any questions or require further clarification, please contact the Pitt Meadows Airport office at info@flyypk.ca. Links can be found below for more details directly from the CBSA website.
